The thesis is the opportunity for the student to bring the skills and techniques they have learned during the course to bear on a particular problem of interest to them.  The unique combination of methodologies with the critical process of design opens up great possibilities to construct genuinely original and insightful knowledge.  Some students have gone on to develop their thesis in the professional sphere or through research projects.
